LAST MONTH'S MINUTES for the Board of Directors Meeting on November 6, 2005 were approved.
TREASURER: The current bank account balance is $5,330.98. The Christmas party auction and expenses are included. The club's taxes to the State Board of Equalization for last April and September were paid. A $400 donation from our club was made to Buchser School for using their facility for last year's Show and Sale. Our 2006 Garden Club yearly insurance was paid.
MEMBERSHIP: 59 members have renewed for 2006.
HOSPITALITY: Bill Kurtz continues to help us out.
The February PROGRAM will be a hands-on workshop on how to stage plants for show presentation.
LIBRARY: Nothing new to report.
AFFILIATE: A CSSA survey was passed around, and collected from our membership. It contained feedback for the CSSA on their journal and our areas of interest. A motion was proposed and approved to donate $100 to the CSSA for their color fund, research, and for our club's membership renewal.
MINI SHOW: Linda introduced a formalized set of rules to govern this activity, and will implement it by this February.
ANNUAL SHOW: The dates for the 2006 Show and Sale are April 1 - 2. There was discussion on how to better advertise our event, primarily through newspaper ads and Internet sites, such as Craig's List. It was noted that the garden ads in the San Jose Mercury News are not very big anymore, and may be due to the Internet competition for news and event reporting.
BY-LAWS: Nothing new to report.
The meeting was adjourned at 12:10 P.M.
The next Board meeting will be on February 5, at the Prusch Park Meeting Hall at 10:30 A.M.
