BOARD OF DIRECTORS

November 5, 2006

CSSSJ

Call to Order by President Bill Munkacsy at the Prusch Park Meeting Hall at 10:45 A.M.

LAST MONTH'S MINUTES for the Board of Directors Meeting on September 10, 2006 were approved.

TREASURER: The balance as of November 5, 2006 was $11,507.94.

MEMBERSHIP: Seven new members from the Fall Show and Sale. Our total membership number is now 100.

HOSPITALITY: Nothing new to report.

The December PROGRAM will be our annual Holiday Extravaganza, held on December 3, at Harry's Hofbrau in Santa Clara.

LIBRARY: Nothing new to report.

AFFILIATE: Nothing new to report.

MINI SHOW: We had a dry run this month, and it was greeted with enthusiasm. It was fun to see whose plant would be voted as the favorite. Linda submitted the rules, points, and rewards for end-of-year bragging rights.

FALL SHOW:

• Sale and Unjudged Show at Buchser School on Oct. 7 & 8 was a great success.
• A motion was proposed and approved to give Buchser School's science department a donation of $350 from our club as thanks.

BY-LAWS: Nothing new to report.

OLD BUSINESS:

• A motion was proposed and approved to create a new Board of Directors position: Board Member Emeritus. Past President and Program Director, Bill Kurtz, has been nominated for this position. It will be a life-long honorary position. The position was announced at the last three consecutive Monthly Meetings, and will be announced at our December Holiday Party.
• A motion was proposed and approved to have our club CSSSJ logo silk-screened onto tee-shirts. They were available for purchase at our Fall Show and Sale for $15 each.

NEW BUSINESS:

• Roger Lane will be taking over the responsibilities as our club Treasurer next year. Thanks, Roger!

The meeting was adjourned at 12:10 P.M.

The next Board meeting will be on January 7, 2007, at the Prusch Park Meeting Hall at 10:30 A.M.
